The Barrio Neighborhood Coalition
The Barrio Neighborhood Coalition is a group of community members and representatives from neighborhood associations, organizations, and nonprofits. We work together to fight gentrification and displacement, share knowledge about what’s happening in Tucson, and advocate for our communities.
What We Do
Our mission is to protect barrio/neighborhood identity and culture in the face of gentrification and displacement. Our goals are to amplify the voices of the existing communities in gentrifying neighborhoods and address the growing economic disparities in Tucson. We seek to educate residents about the drivers of gentrification and support their efforts to take a proactive approach to fighting displacement.
